Mandarin Food Bank Canned Goods Drive

CONGRATULATIONS!

to those who contributed or collected the canned foods this past November 2011.  We collected food from over 40 homes and all that we received were donated directly to the Mandarin Food Bank.

This Past Thanksgiving the food bank served over 460 needy families in our community.  They offered a hot meal, supplies for Thanksgiving dinner, and clothing.

Our collection replenished their supplies and will be distributed to the community with their upcoming Christmas outreach.

Mark on your calendars November 2012 for the Next Food Drive to support the Mandarin Food Bank and the needy in our local community.

Last year Florida was one of 9 states who had an above average hunger rate.  48.8 million American households didn’t have enough food for every meal.

The need does not go away once the holidays are over.  The Mandarin Food Bank accepts donations for non-perishable foods and gently used or new clothing all year.

They are specifically in need of the following:

Spaghetti & Sauce

Tuna and any canned meat

Peanut Butter & Jelly

Hot and Cold cereal

Toilet Tissue, toothpaste,

laundry detergent, & shampoo

Drinks of all kinds, especially coffee, tea, and juice

Diapers of all sizes: children and adult

Jello and any other canned good or dry good item.
