Learning to Serve – A High School Retreat

Come and join our  high school retreat, Learning To Serve, on Friday, April 5th to Saturday, April 6th at the Orthodox Mission Christian Center. For youth in grades 9th -12th.

St. Justin Martyr shares a beautiful relationship with OCMC. We have seen active involvement by many of our parishioners, who have gone on mission trips or have worked at the mission center. Not many churches are able to say that. This retreat is an incredible and unique opportunity for our youth. We get to stay on-sight at OCMC to get a closer look at learning about the missionary life by our friends, Alex Goodwin and Bonnie Futch, who are committed to living out Christ’s Great Commission. It can start planting the seeds of stewardship and missions for our high school students and prepare them for a future mission trip.

On Saturday morning, we will water the seeds by putting everything we have learned and our faith into action. As a service project, we will clean the mission center’s grounds as a thank you for all they have done for us. Following lunch we will continue our service project by joining Robby Janssen for homeless ministry in St. Augustine. Community service hours will be available.

For more information or if you would like to sign up your student(s) contact Daniel Kindell at youthsjm@gmail.com.
