SJM Youth Canned Food Drive

“I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink…Assuredly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” ~ Jesus

This November, our youth will be leading a Canned Food Drive to benefit the Mandarin Food Bank. We are collecting paper grocery bags and attaching our Door Hanger flyers to distribute them around our community. We are asking neighbors to consider filling the grocery bags with nonperishable goods (items are listed below). Distribution will be on Saturday, November 3rd 2p-4p. Once the bags are full, participants can have them ready for pick-up on Sunday, November 11th right outside your door from 12p-2p. Our youth, along with their chaperones, will go around during this time to collect any donations.

Once collected, our volunteers will then sort the items and take them to the Mandarin Food Bank in time for their Thanksgiving Day Program.

Everything about this program is all about volunteerism and serving other. Our youth volunteer their time to prepare bags, distribute them to the community, and pick them up where they are needed. It is also 100% voluntary and up to the neighbors to consider participating. We understand if there is no interest.  If an earlier time is needed, please notify our office by calling (904) 880-7671 and we can arrange a time and day.

Let us help those in need as we offer thanksgiving for the gifts God has given us. For to us much is given, and from us much can be given.
