Beautifying Zoos and Ceramic Pieces

High School Service Project

w/ the Jacksonville Zoo

This was a fun and active weekend for our SJM Family. On Saturday, September 22nd, our High School students volunteered with the Jacksonville Zoo by cleaning the grounds around their parking lot. Many bags were filled as no piece of trash was left behind. Following our service, we enjoyed bagged lunches then spent the afternoon exploring the zoo. As a thank you, the Jacksonville Zoo gave us free admission. It was a wonderful day and no one was left in the monkey enclosure.

Elementary School Outing

@ Color Me Mine

The fun didn’t stop there! On Sunday, September 23rd, our K-5 youth and parents got together after church to enjoy some time of creativity and fellowship with our Color Me Mine Outing. Located at Color Me Mine inside the Avenues Mall (between Forever 21 and Buffalo Wild Wings) both parents and students painted ceramic sculptures ranging from pumpkins to mugs and bowls to sharks and unicorns, one could not ask for better fellowship. We even had the Jags game playing…GO JAGS! Be on the look out this coming Sunday to see how their pieces turned out!
