CONNECT CONFERENCE 2018

Orthodox Young Adult Conference

CONNECT CONFERENCE! This pan-Orthodox conference is on a mission to better connect Orthodox young professionals to Christ, The Church, and each other through a 3-day weekend of lectures, fellowship, and worship.

Blessed by Metropolitian Alexios (GOA) and Bishop Gregory Tatsis (Carpatho-Russian Diocese), 150 young adults gathered last year to hear from guest lectures such as Fr. Barnabas Powell to Bishop Gregory. CONNECT hopes to serve another 150-175 attendees this October Friday 5th – Sunday 7th 2018 in Atlanta, GA.

This conference is unique in that it was born from the collaboration of young adults from various dioceses in the Atlanta area.  CONNECT relies heavily on grassroots communication, as this conference is not financially backed by any one diocese. Thus, support in spreading the word to all you who may want to support or attend this great young professional experience!

ABOUT – “The Connect Conference is for Orthodox young adults in their 20s and 30s. Through learning, fellowship, and worship, the goal of the conference is to better connect us to our faith, the Church, and each other. The format of the conference includes keynote addresses to the group, breakout sessions in smaller groups with time for Q&A, worship times including the Divine Liturgy, and plenty of opportunities for fellowship.”

THEME – “Connect 2018 will focus on “Understanding Our Purpose.” We aim to help all attendees discover a deeper connection with their God-given purpose, whether it be personally, professionally, in the church, or relating to others. Speakers for this year’s conference include a variety of Orthodox Christian professionals and clergy who will guide us through a weekend of growth while we encounter Christ through our search for understanding.”

SPEAKERS – Fr. Stephen Freeman (Keynote), Fr. David Rucker (Breakout), Fr. Patrick Cardine (Breakout), Dr. Kyriaki FitzGerald (Breakout), Dr. Stephen Muse (Breakout), Jamil Samara (Breakout) and Scott Davenport (Breakout). To see the full list of speakers and bio, click HERE.
