Christmas Joy with the Homeless

Christ is Born! GLORIFY HIM!

The Liturgy before the Liturgy for the Feast of the Nativity.

Saint Justin Martyr Orthodox Church is no stranger when it comes to bringing the life of Christ to the streets, especially bright and early Christmas morning. Continuing a tradition that has lasted over 8-years, our community has been providing our brothers and sisters affected by homelessness with warm coffee, donuts, fruit and other Christmas treats to Hemming Park in downtown Jacksonville.

This Christmas 2017 morning we were greeted with smiles warmer than the coffee and shared memories of years prior. With many life journeys and new beginnings, these good people were kind and thankful this holiday season. SJMers provided 166+ sandwich cards as presents from our Church, the St. Justin Martyr family.

We would like to congratulate everyone who came out to spend their early Christmas morning to volunteer and serve our brothers and sisters in downtown Jacksonville. In addition to our on-site volunteers, this ministry would not be possible without the giving hearts from everyone who helped prepare our Christmas treats and donated sandwich cards.

With the year coming to a close, continue to share the love everywhere you go with everyone you meet. God Bless!
